The study targets are transport nodes which are the cores of the city, where every day many commuters go in and out, many inhabitants live and/or work on top of them and work nearby within a convenient walkable distance.

Our concept is the piazza, taking reference to the European public squares, where it is possible to find relevant buildings and city functions and commercial functions, but where it is possible to find also social and community spaces and facilities, a place where people can meet, gather, play, exercise, and socialize. Extracting from its physical shape the “soul of the piazza” the challenge of this project is to apply it to Hong Kong.

Why near transport nodes? Because the existing public space in Hong Kong is not well connected to the daily life dynamics of the inhabitants, our target is to locate those public spaces on the daily routes of the people, in this way it would be possible to attract and stimulate people to spend time in the public space.
